About HudsonValleyMommies
| MISSION |
To provide a safe, secure, FREE place for
mothers to find support and encouragement from other mothers and to empower them
to be better women, parents and community leaders. |
| PHILOSOPHY |
No one should have to pay a fee to make a
friend, so we offer free membership to any mother within the community who
wishes to join. Members gain camaraderie and support through an online forum
that is available 24 hours a day and events around the area where mothers can
meet face-to-face and develop real friendships that can last a lifetime.
We believe that, working together, mothers can change
the world - one family, one neighborhood, one community at a time. HudsonValleyMommies is
a connecting force, helping us each to make a difference in our own lives,
in our families and in the places we call home. |
| ABOUT US |
Many of the moms here on Hudson Valley Mommies met on Meetup.com in the "Poughkeepsie Area Stay-at-Home Mom Group." As the group grew we welcomed members from Connecticut, Ulster County and Putnam County as well. Our group began becoming involved in charity efforts such as the March of Dimes. As word got out about our group our membership grew and we looked to expand beyond the Poughkeepsie Area into other regions in the Hudson Valley. When approached by The Mommies Network we gladly accepted the offer to bring our group dynamic, ideas and inspiration to other parts of New York's Hudson Valley Region in a forum that is free, secure and open to moms of all types (expecting, new and experienced alike!) We hope you'll join us on this exciting ride we call motherhood!
We chat online in a private forum - discussing
everything from the best photographers to the worst temper tantrums and all that
lies between - and meet-up regularly at member-driven events around town. Whether
it's a late night commiseration on a crying baby (there are 4 am posts to prove
it) or a Mom's Night Out, HudsonValleyMommies provides what our members need, when and how they
need it.
But HudsonValleyMommies is more than just a community of moms. It's moms
in and for the community. Our members work full time, stay home full time, work
part time, represent many races, are pregnant for the first time, are adoptive
moms, were adopted themselves, recently moved to the area, have lived here all
our lives, have twins, are happy with one, are single moms, are searching out
schools and have watched their kids graduate. In other words, we are a reflection
of mothers in the real world. And we help out our neighbors as much as ourselves
through organized fundraisers and other charity events - specifically those focused
on providing for mothers and their children. |
